Brand Building With Photos and Images on Facebook and Google+ ...

Business owners strive to build their brand and increase product awareness by taking advantage of social media venues like Facebook and Google+ but if you own a business are you using images on Facebook and Google+?

Putting a Name With a Face

It?s no secret that Google and Google+ loves images and photos. These days images offer a super reach. For example, in a Google search, I searched for my own name and because I utilize Google+ I?m rewarded with a little bio to the right of the Google search showing my profile picture:

Adam Sokoloff on Google+?

Search for the more famous such as Steve Jobs and you?ll get additional information on Google+ bios. Along with his Google+ bio, you?ll also get suggestions of people similar to Jobs and suggested searches:

Steve Jobs on Google+Search for President Barack Obama and you?ll even find books he?s authored. You get the idea.

According to Google employee Avinash Kaushik, Google+ has 18 million users and that number is growing. Adding your CEO or business owner photo to your Google+ profile helps consumers put a name to a face; it becomes more personal and helps to build customer trust.

Brand Building with Google+

Because more people worldwide use Google Chrome as a favorite search engine (approximately 43%) using product images and photos on your Google+ page garners an even better opportunity for people to not only find your business or product?they can ?see? it.

Do a Google search on what product or service you offer such as I did: ?Google+ Custom Graphics and Wraps Pictures? and you?ll see Sunrise Signs landed in the search in 3 of the top 4 spots. Why? Google is smart and it knows the links it offers via the search will offer what the searcher seeks?pictures or images of custom graphics and wraps. Of course if Sunrise Signs was void of a Google+ page, we would not appear in the search at all so you can see how important creating a unique business page is?an excellent brand building tool.

Sunrise Signs on Google+The more images and photos you plant within your Google profile and posts, the higher the ranking in a search. Regular posts with images to Google+ also helps to keep you within top spot searches; ignoring your Google+ page may lower your power in a search.

Building Brands with Facebook

Using tons of product or service images on your corporate Facebook Page also increases your chances of being found in a Google search. For example, you can see in the screenshot below I searched for: Facebook.com Customer Graphics and Wraps Photos and the result? Sunrise Signs lands in the number one spot! And, the more often you post, the better the chance of staying in the top spot. If we didn?t have a Facebook Page, we wouldn?t be found at all!

Sunrise Signs on Facebook

Click on the offered link to our Facebook Page and you?ll see a plethora of images showing our products; car wraps advertising, vehicle graphics and wraps and comments and kudos from our clients.

Placing images of what you do or sell on your Facebook Page offers you a better chance to be found in a Google search. Why? Again, because Google loves images, it has the ability to crawl Facebook and find your brand and its product images.

Amazing Statistics

So, you can see if you?re not using photos or images on Facebook and Google+ it?s time to start. Here are some statistics on taking advantage of social media to aid in building your brand:

  • 90 percent of marketers use social media for business (brand awareness).
  • 43 percent of marketers have noticed an improvement in sales from using social media (consumers see what they want and buy; even via website mobile apps).
  • 91 percent of businesses see improved website traffic due to social media postings and campaigns (if they find you on Google+ and Facebook and like what they see, they?re more apt to buy from your website or contact your organization).
  • 47 percent of customers are somewhat likely to purchase from a brand that they follow or like (gain an increase and edge in the e-commerce arena).
  • 80 percent of U.S. social network users prefer to connect with brands through Facebook (with 138 million unique Facebook users per month, it?s no wonder if you maintain your Facebook Page, you?ll gain customers).
  • 7:46 Minutes is the average time spent per person per month on Facebook.

*Thanks to The Social Skinny for the above statistics.

What Are You Waiting For?

If you haven?t quite jumped on the Google+, Facebook or social media wagon, it?s time to start. At Sunrise Signs, we know we?ve sold more vehicle wraps and graphics both locally and nationwide due to a regular presence on both Facebook and Google+.

To build your brand further, take advantage of these free social media venues, insert as many photos and images as you can and engage your customers. By engaging we mean if they comment on an image post respond back to them?let them know there is a real person behind those posts. Answer questions and even follow them back on Facebook and invite them into your Google+ circles. From there it?s sort of a ?pay it forward? sort of phenomenon. They?ll share what you?re sharing and the result of this exposure is more customers, brand recognition and above all, higher sales revenues.
